IN DA Bginnin God cre8d da heavens & da earth
#1
I find this hilarious...

[INDENT]
Quote:“IN DA Bginnin God cre8d da heavens & da earth.” Thus begins the latest version of the Bible, translated into text messages for mobile phones.
It also tells us “da earth was barren, wit no 4m of life”.

The Bible Society in Australia unveiled yesterday its translation of all 31,173 verses of the Bible in text message, which can be accessed free of charge over the internet.

The aim was to help to spread the word of God, Michael Chant, the society’s spokesman, said. “The old days when the Bible was only available within a sombre black cover with a Cross on it are long gone.

“We want to open it up for people of all ages, backgrounds and interests, and the text message version is a logical extension of that.”
It took one person about four weeks to convert the Old and New Testaments to text. The society used the International Contemporary English Version of the Bible, and remained true to the grammar, changing only the spelling. Sending the entire Bible would take more than 30,000 text messages.

you mean he didn't create proper english and spelling first? confused:

looks like the aim should've been to not try to capture black people and white
"kidz" who type on the internet like they're retarded to prove that they are more "thuggish" or sound like they ARE black. for religious reasons.

if they want to benefit mankind they should release a computer virus that kills people who type like that. i think everyone will agree.

EDIT:

"Sending the entire Bible would take more than 30,000 text messages"

i mean how on earth could the church have that much money?

i mean they are in a dirt poor country like cuba. when everyone around them is poor, wearing tattered clothing, and have a SOLID ****ing GOLD statue in their churches over there! and yes this is true. i vistited cuba, when my dad was stationed there. it was a sad country to visit. those people have NOTHING. it's what drove my dad to atheism and what drove me to read in between the lines when it comes to major religions.

i would dive deep into it. but this would just start a flame war. but even churches are using the internet to gain more members. be extra careful if they are the fake churches who REQUIRE you to pay a 10% income to the church... *cough catholics.* and a buttload of others. i attack the catholics personally. because they seem to be one of the very few. outside of cults and mormons who have their only special bible. that is totally different from the kings james version.

king james being the first person to spend a crap load of money to ensure that the bible was translated CORRECTLY. because he saw how the catholic church was bending it and using the bible as power for their own church. and also using it agianst the government to influence the people of europe.

hat's off to king james and hat's off to everyone else who doesn't shove christianity down others' throats.

for the record i'm christian.

ive never read the bible but reading it in a text message would probably be a lot more confusing and take 2 times longer to read it than a normal one.

You know youre living in 2005 if you have the bible on your phone

HAHA. Such an example of how stupid our current society is. It should come so when they finish reading it, it sends them a text message saying "congrats, you read the bible over the phone, your are now officially a loser and a retard. Guess the jokes on you!" That would make my day, week, and month.

HAHA. that's funny. It shows how dumb our society is. But it's not a joke, it's really really stupid media.
