problems with screen shots

ok i don't know what the hell is wrong but when i printscrn and paste to imaging or paint all i get is a black picture with a few off colored pixels that somewhat resembles my screenshot but you can't really see what it is. anyone know what causes this? its almost like it loses the quality pasting it.

well i was s/s a circlet i found to see what it was worth but when i tried to save it to an image file it just comes out as a dark picture with with some color pixels here and there.

Does it do this for every screen shot? If you press Alt+Print Screen does it still do it? If you take a ss, and then hit start>>run>>clpbrd, what shows up? Also, do you have any games installed where a screen shot is automatically saved, and if so, what does that picture look like?

this is what i get when i screen shot. I've also noticed lately it wont let me save any pictures off the internet as jpg's it only lets me do .bmp's. i dunno wtf is up with this POS computer.

What version of windows are you using? Do you scan for spyware etc. often?

i'm using windows 2000 and yes i have paranoid levels of internet and spyware security. but you know now that i think about it, it didn't start making me save everything as a BMP until i installed the software for my digicam.... hmmm

That sounds very suspicious. Maybe you should poke around in the preferences to see if anything relates to your problem. Also you could do some googles searches relating to your digi cam and the ss problem.

Ive had this problem, change your resolution and try it. if that still doesnt work mess with your settings abit(gamma/screen/shadows/ect) and try.

Are you trying to screen shot and then paste it, becuase screen shots are stored in the D2 folder. That might be the problem.

That can't be it because I myself print screen c/p all the time and nothing like that has ever happened to me.

yeah this has never happened before. oh yeah and i changed my game resolution and now my d2 won't even load... WTF lol. this computer is about to **** me off.
