Xbox 360. Why? I have one reserved. Another reason: Xbox 360 is more sophisticated. Not only does it have an elaborate online system, but the games themselves seem more sophisticated and mature, even.
Nintendo games appeal to the inner child, PS2 games (FF, namely) appeal to creativity, sometimes immersive plots, and spending lots and lots of time. Xbox, on the other hand, generally target those that want to hack, slash, and shoot everything you see, while keeping a complex plot. I'm one of those kinds of people.

Just so you know FF is on Xbox 360. I say Xbox360, Only games remotely worth playing on PS2 are the Socom series, 3 is a godly game but the online play is flawed in so many ways. Unless they work out a way to fix the way PSOnline works I don't want to play it. Xbox Live as Spoon said has 1 friends list, that is much easier than having to create say 20 accounts in different games and then having to talk to people to get their accounts. Nintendo games never appealed to me, all the games are pretty much cartoonish looking to me. The games on the 360 are looking pretty good so far, I already have CoD2, Quake 2, Perfect Dark Zero, the new Ghost Recon, and Project Gotham 3 on reserve with my system.
Also the 360 can play at least 200 of the original xbox games so far, they are testing them now and apparently the graphics get upped tremendously with the emulator. Can you guess what I picked?
Edit: When it comes to controllers, while I rag on the Nintendo one, I can get used to anything in < 30 minutes.

tahu wth did I flame ??? the ps3 controlers that really do sux (so what if i hate the controler i'd think no1 would flame me back for the coment) or the comment about masterchief26 and gyuforce (they could have at least given a better reason other than "halo3" and "killzone2" its just a useless post since there short )
and "if i did flame" im srry if that will make u happy -.-
still you should have pointed it out ,im rarely in the flame wars and i kno what you mean about the flaming in a vg thread

OK here is my thoughts....listen closely....
XBOX360 is WORTHLESS (yes i said it)...
first the only HIGHLIGHTED game is HALO 3 besides the fact that all the rest will come out for PS3 (Unreal Tour) and Oblivion is announced to hit the markets at SPRING 2006....
second they try to do so much. For ex, they are "purposely" holding most of their supply of xbox360 until january to april (ign.com) to heighten their popularity (they have a shortage of supplies, really).
third [SIZE=2]if you are a hardcore graphics fan, the 360 has 3 semi-core threads with 2 thread cores (6 in total) running at 3.2 ghz. PS3's Cell is a PC-Core at 3.2 running 7 threads that is enough to have 218 GLFOPs.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=5]FOURTH LIVE connection comes with a fee along with a $100+ with the HD cable on the 360 oppose to $299.99 for PS3 with the HD. YES XBOX cares more about your money then how much you like the system [/SIZE]
BEcause there games rely way to much on multiplay, u must be rich to afford even a monthly play of Halo 3 or what not
FIFTH Their back-compat is sick...only 200....wtf is that that is like having 50% reall milk half from concentrate....you cannot get the real deal from half the published games.....
REASON WHY: In order for Xbox to have full back-compat, they must have a certain chip from nVIDIA to crank the resolution...this means their earnings interest to nVIDIA..again 360 is all about the money they earn!!!
SIXth Emulator is not even definite if itll hit the markets at 360s launch date....and the price can range from 100-200 depending how enhanced the graphics will be...they said the halo 2 and xbox games will run at 720p which means they need hella more power to get it at 1080.
SOOOO....get a PS3 without a question as it is stronger, cheaper, more consistent games,FULL back-compat. :/, and FF series and YES xbox360 will be coming with the FF11 not a 12...but I have to go with the Rev, I thnk there gonna go HUGE after it... The handmotion controllers, free downloadable CLASSIC games, sexy, ZELDA ZELDA ZELDA, plus all your madden games!! CHEERS!!!

is halo 3 the on;y reason 2 get 360 not that it comes out in like a week and a half, halo 3 next year, perfect daro 0 and quake 4 bytches and XBOX 360 ALL THE WAY DOWN WITH THE REVOLUTION THE CINTRILLER IS A REMOTE and DOWN WITH THE PS3 ITS A BOOMGERANG FOR GOD SAKES.

All of you are so obsessed with shiny graphics and all that jazz. Gameplay is what matters. Since I want to try something new for a change and I'm sick of holding a big chunk of plastic in my hand, I'll be getting a Revolution.
P.S. XBOX junkies, stop relying on Halo in every single one of your arguments.
Halo was okay, it was nothing too outstanding. Just another FPS in my book.

REASON TO GET PS3
First: power is unmatched as stated above, the standard rez is 1080p PROGRESSIVE . Has enough power to hold 16:9 on 2 outputs 256mb RAM (xbox has 512mb RAM) at 700Mhz meaning 512 RAM basically....its just another way of saying faster processing and outstaniding graphics
SECOND; Games to look forward to....MGS4, FF series, BACK COMPATIBLE, Unreal Tour., Nijda Gaiden, SOCOM, GT Vision, Socom, Tekken, Res Evil 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Xbox has Halo 3....proj gotham, burnout, oblivion at Spring, 200 back compat, splinter cell......wow
THIRD: Reality Synthesizer: in english it means basically having a feel of realism taken straight from mother earth.....gameplay is effected by what time u plai laugh:

By saying that another system totally blows and everyone is wrong your asking for a flame war. There is a difference between starting a flame war and actually flaming.
I'm moving this to Flame Wars because there is no way in hell this kind of stuff ever stays as a casual debate.

Uhh splinter cell came out in all 3 systems? I hate xbox fanboys who use HALO everytime we debate which system is better. Halo was a decent FPS not a GREAT one, if you want great please play some HL 2.

I'm not getting the 360 for Halo... It'll be nice when it comes out, but I'm getting it for: The controller. It's normal. It isn't experimental, yet it has a bunch of little gadgets.. Like the jewel in the middle that tells you what screen it is. Not useful, but cool.. And, again, the Live format owns PS3 alone.
Also, game-wise: Quake 4, Project Gotham, Call of Duty 2, Oblivion, Perfect Dark 0, Chromehounds (cool), and eventually Halo 3. I'm rooting for the Quake 4 thing, though. Hopefully it'll be good.
Also note that I'm not listing all the exclusives or the ones I'm going to buy, just the ones that look good that are on the Xbox 360.

Btw, if you read my paragraph, I didn't mention Halo. Also to that one kid who loves PS3, WIth live you pay less than 10$ a month. With games on PS3 ONE game can charge 10+$ Monthly. If you can't pay the 10$ a month for all Xbox games, but can pay the 15$ a month from 1 game, than something is wrong.

again, the PS3 WILL comeout with free online play (ign.com) and dont expect the same online play with ps2 and ps3....alot has ben changed

The PS3 is offering an open online system. Their system is going to basically be like playing on LAN but having to connect through the game's manufacturer and setting up account info with them. How could this be bad if it's free? It allows the game developers to charge us for each individual game we play online, like MMOs for PC, and you have to create a new log in for every game.

yea i have to say PS3 has the upper hand again on online gaming.....moreover, xbox wraps their games around multiplaying such as Halo, which all you xbox fans have been drooling about.....in other words without cash you are not going to get the TOTAL great experience oppse to Ps, which is known for the games genre, graphics, plot...not online games-playing....think of the online system as an additional ENHANCEment to the PS corp in playing and having a better experience.

Half life 2 is not on xbox. And quake 4 was not the best game I played (PC) was good though.

First of all, good online multiplayer beats out good plotlines any day. Sure, good plots are cool when you first beat the game and all that, but they don't leave a lasting impression. Online multiplayer leads to competition to be the best and, if it's good, ALWAYS gets you to play the game longer, leading to a fuller experience. PS3 can't hold up against that with nothing but plotlines and a loose online system.
Second of all, you need to stop bringing up the fact that everyone's 'drooling' about the Halo series. Ghost Recon 2: SS, in my opinion, was a much better game than Halo. Practically everyone that has ever played GR2 agrees with me. Halo 2 was good, but you're making it seem like it was the only good Xbox game, which is far from the truth.
Third, Sony has a thing about making systems that aren't exactly long-lasting. I had my PS2 for about a year and a half before it started basically eating up my disks. It scratched up a perfectly good Gladiator DVD beyond repair, as well as my GTA games.
And lastly, if I wanted to play around with a boomerang all day long, I could go buy one at a dollar store for a lot cheaper. =P
