something wrong with my ps7

I can't seem to add any color balance layers or brush in colors but black, white, and gray.
Here's what happening:

I was hoping it wouldn't come to that. It took almost a day to fully install. I'll try though and have update tomorrow.

Go to Image--Mode, and make sure it is set on RGB Color. I'm hoping this is the problem cause if not I don't know what to tell ya.

I believe it is because it is a background and is locked, try fooling around with the options on the "Layer" palette at the bottom right hand corner.

EDIT: This - if you have no clue what I'm talkin about.

Also try making another layer on top of the background.

And grave, I do use the other layers, i was just providing an example.
