Whats wrong with my d2loader?

I have it installed i followed it step by step and tried it 3 times. Every time i get it installed and click on the shortcut that i created it opens as normal and everything is fine, but when i click to enter battle.net it says cannot connect to battle net please check and make sure your modem is plugged in message. I have everything plugged in and everything works but it just wont seem to connect to battle.net. Can someone who had this problem before please help me. Thank you!

Causes:

1.)Joining a Game too quickly after leaving 1
2.) Spamming in the Channel
3.) Switching accounts/characters too quickly
4.) Overuse of the mousewheel

It sounds like you have the shortcuts set wrong.
You should have 2 shortcuts on your desktop.
1 used specifically for entering bnet and the other specifically for loader.

The one you use for loader will not allow you to enter bnet. The reason is because the cd key that the loader is using isn't real. It was created by a key generator which only looks at the format of keys and creats a new one that the game itself will recognize. Once you try using that key by logging onto bnet, the server will check that key vs the ones that bnet has listed in their database. It will not match, therefore will through out an error. My guess is that you were banned for trying to access bnet using an invalid key to many times. When I first setup loader I ran into the same problem.

Right click your shortcuts and check the target line in the properties menu. The one linked to open a bnet game should look normal. The link used for opening loader should have -mpq cdkey.mpq at the end.

So i have to use a cdkey changer to make the d2loader work? I have diabloii setup in 2 different locations, one without the loader and one with the loader. One is located on the desktop the other is located in c/programs/my computer. So ill just eneter a different cd key for the loader and itll let me access bnet then right?

Everyone seems to have a problem setting loader up for the first time.
For my clan members usually I so app sharing over MSN or Netmeeting and setit up for them. BUT, I have a fix for it now.
I created an install file that will install the loader completely and ready to use.
Here is how you do it.
This might be the long way arond to fix your problem but in the end it you will see that it will get rid of all your frusteration.

-Try to revert your D2 back to how it was before you installed loader. If you can't do that you might want to reinstall it.
-In my profile is a link to my website. Go there and do to the downloads section. Don't worry about how the site looks, it is still in the process of being built.
The 3rd download in the list is the install program for the loader.
Here are the steps to get it installed. (be sure that yuor diablo folder is located in c://program files/diablo ii/ it will work better if it is.

1) download the program
2) unzip it
3) click install and follow the prompts
4) use loader cause you are all setup.

Being that you are new to the loader, there are some rules that you have to follow when using it.
The install will create 2 new shortcuts on your desktop.
1) Game1 BNET - use this link when trying to connect to BNET. It will contain your REAL CD key.
2) Game 2 NO BNET - use this link to connect to your games via IP/TCP. Yuo will no be able to connet to BNET in the usual way using this link. It contains a FAKE CD Key that will not let you in.

Here is also how you use it. (it may be here on the site but Im new to it and don't know where it might be)

2 chars in IP/TCP game:
-Open Game 1, HOST a game using the IP/TCP option.
-Open Game 2, join that game using your IP address.
-To add more than 2 chars, just do step 2 again.

2 Chars in BNET game.
-Open Game 1 and enter BNET like you normally would.
-HOST a game in open. Yuo must be the host for this to work.
-Open Game 2, join your game using IP/TCP. Although you aren't hosting this way, it will still join your game.
-To enter more than 2 chars in that game, just repeat step 3.

You probably need to let your firewall re-learn Diablo II since it changed .exe files. Turn off your firewall to test, or remoev all references to Diablo II from it.
