****ing Gradients

I'm trying to ****ing make it so that I have a gradiet like this:

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
I I
I I
I I
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

I's being the dark spot with opening being the lighter spot.

How do you do that?

[Edit] That's supposed to be a fully closed box... As in the lines with 2 I's, the second set of I's is supposed to be fully over.

You mean like that? but with a sig or something?
To do that you go to:

Layers > New fill layer > gradient > reflected > reverse and you can modify the scale to change the size.
