Router Problem with SBC Yahoo DSL
#1
Okay, we just switched from some podunk cable company that is generally really slow and unreliable to DSL in hopes of a more consistent connection, but now I have a problem. Every time I connect to our router, I can't access the internet, but my dad, with his wireless reciever, can.

I don't get it, I'm hardwired to the system from the router, but I'm not recieving any packets (or very few, like two or three) until I go back to being directly connected from the tower to the modem. The router is a Linksys BEFW1154.

I used to have a similar problem. If you have a USB plug-in on the back of your modem do this:

Plug the USB cable from your modem into your computer. Then run the ethernet cable from the back of your modem to the internet plug-in on your router. If that doesn't work, IM me on MSN.

Okay, apparently it's fixed for the time being. I had to dig up the software (because cable didn't require I have software) and I tried that, reset the router to factory default, and plugged it in. Hopefully this will last.
