excuse me, i have a program running in task manager called svchost.exe and i have it 5 times, this is what they say under user name, #1 local service, #2 network service, #3 system, #4 system, #5 system. Any of these harmful? whats the best way to check if i have any trojans, worms, etc on my comp if adaware and my anti thingy doesnt get em?

EDIT i also have one called nvsvc32, that doesnt seem right, if it isnt how do i get it off my comp asap.

svchost.exe is a real windows program dont try and shut these down because you will just crash your computer. Do you use a nvidia graphics card? Because nvsvc32 is part of the display drivers.

svchost.exe is fine, nvsvc32 is fine, all system processes

what you need to be on the lookout for is svchost with no .exe, and also scvhost (v and c reversed) if you see those get AVG, Trojan Hunter, and SpySweeper and do a thorough cleaning of your computer and it should get rid of most problem viruses/trojans/adware

yeah its actually a keylogger...i tested it on a shitt ladder char i had and it turns out the guy comes on like late at nigh gets on your account and starts jackingshit from you. I mean i dont really care about d2 all that much but i recommend you either a. get rid of that trojan or b. reformat your comp...who knows what else he can get his hands on.

WOW, If I can comment. This is prettly clever. He made a command prompt keylogger. the shortcut will execute the command promt thus making the scvhost in your task list. making an invisible file, thatsa new one.
