I've never been a fan of System of a Down nor a fan of emo. It seems that most System fans bag on emo fans, and ironically, KROQ has just began playin Lonely Day, which is quite an emo song. hmmm... yes... very interesting. like i've said, i've never really like any of system's songs except toxicity (b/c it bashes fat people) but that's beside the point. About a month ago i was playing wow and these guys were talking about how great soad was and how one of them was going to a concert. Me, being a nosey prick, said system sucks ass. Ironically, one of them says "Dude, you wouldn't know good music if it hit you in the face." Lol.

I agree with Mind. I listen to any type of rock but people say I'm emo. Soad is not emo. They sing about killing people, suicide, and food. I just find their songs funny most of the time. In my opinion Soad is just really fast. They aren't emo because of Lonely Day. And I believe Soldier Side is Christian rock then for saying "Wondering when Savior comes." or "God is wearing black"? The only way you can put it is they do what ever.

Anyway, SOAD write songs (probably when drunk) then go back (sober) and put in random words here and there. That's why there songs are really random. Some of there songs do express emotion, though. Omg! They must be emo!! =O!! I think not.

I like some of SoaD's songs, but in no way do I think they are Metal. I like a broad range of rock, from Classic Rock to Death Metal, I have pretty good knowledge of whats what, and SoaD is not in any way Emo. Thats like saying any Death Metal band or just normal Metal is Emo because they have 1 ballad. People who consider SoaD Heavy Metal are the same people who think AC/DC is a Metal band.
