Wait for your new HDD or in the meantime just install a 2nd copy of XP in a Dual Boot config and use that if for some reason you cant backup and format now before your new HDD.

well i try to format my hard drive and it says its corupted or full of viruses or somethingconfused: and ive ran so many anti viruses and whatnot and cant find out whats rong with it... and it wont let me format, and how would i install a 2nd copy of xp in a dual boot config? (sorry if its a dumb question)

This may sound a little stupid, but, if you have your Windows XP disk, get a start up disk, and format your Hard Drive from that. This is saying you have a floppy drive and a start up disk or know someone who has one.

Download a copy of XP off of a Torrent site, burn the image to a disc, boot from CD. Voila.

Back every thing up and download a "Low Level format" tool from your HDD vendors website.

its hapend 4 or more times now... with system mechanic 6, age of empires 3, and now warcraft 3.... any way of testing if my rams ****ed or should i wait it out till i get my new hard drive then reload everything?
