I don't know what GLBT stands for but I know if I was gay I wouldn't be offended and I'm sure as hell not offended as far as being straight goes. Let's get real people. The only game by Blizzard worth playing anymore is StarCraft. And Ghost when it comes out. And probably SC 2 even though rules will be gayed up there... And maybe D3 if that ever comes out which, honestly, I hope it doesn't.

This happened few months back, gotta love homophobes

I was enjoying a nice mind rotting night of playing world of warcraft (who needs a man when you can have a nightelf, right?) ... so I'm bobbing along trying to grind away to a higher level, and then in general chat, a few players were using words like faggot and gay.
I was not amused.
So's, I asked the other players why they would use such language in open chat and I bet you can guess their response "#@!#$ faggot!"

Any self respecting homo with 2 balls between his legs would say something right?
So, I did.
I emailed Blizzard and asked them to do something, Blizzard's response was "just ignore em, they'll go away", riiiiiiiiight, like that's ever worked with a gay basher.

So my retort was why would other slurs against minorities go punished, yet calling someone a faggot in open forum is to be "ignored"... yes we all know a faggot is just a bundle of twigs used as a fire starter or a cig in the UK, but over on this side of the pond that's one of those words that'll get your ass kicked.

We know very well what the word actualy means but in the world we live in today it means anti gay, so shut the hell up. If its not your problem, why come into this thread and start bitching at me? Most guilds on wow don't say "GAYS ONLY OMFG" They say glbt friendly. i know LOTS of straight people who join the guilds aswell because of good company. We aren't making it your problem either because guilds like these don't spam the open channel like nearly EVERY ****ER does. Unless i have something smarter to say? Kid, stop trying to insult me, you obviously don't know shit, How is it a "problem" being in a glbt guild? Are they trying to protect us by dissalowing us to band together to play a game? While i played the game i noticed quite a few, and asked them if they ever got any problems, did they? No. But when a few people start using foul language and insulting remarks, people with nothing to dowith the insults, get their guild rights taken away, they loose members of the guild and the guild dies in the end. Is that realy fair? No. Hey, lets close your guild for liking a certain character class, hey lets close your guild because you play in a certain way. hey lets just close your guild because we plain don't like the sexuality of the people you play with because it degrades our community. Thats more or less what blizzard are saying, and it isn't true.

I may be a Republican and usually argue for the more conservative side on this site but here I'm with Mindfields. I'm all for gay rights, though I don't think some people need to flaunt it like they do ("Oh em gee! Did you know I'm gay!"), and I think it's just as bad as racism to disciminate against someone based on their sexuality. It's bullshit that Blizzard will punish someone for threatening a person on WoW but when they use offensive languages against homosexuals it's ok.
