Ad ware Help me Out
#1
Hey

I recently visited some "questionable" sites, and I think I got some new adware. Usually, I'm really good with cleaning my computer, I update my Symantec every other day, always download the windows updates, etc.

However, I just caught a lil window popping up in the corner and quickly disappearing. This terrified me b/c i had this problem before, and my email account was sending out emails with viruses. Since I'm applying for jobs using my email, I don't want to be sending viruses to my prospective employers.

I quickly scanned my computer for viruses, Symantec didn't find anything.
Adaware didn't find anything,

I just d/led firefox and am now using it. However, I'm still worried that my comp may still be infected with something.

Should I be worried? Should I scan my comp with anything else? Suggestions?

if that doesn't work completely uninstall your internet browser and go to windows.com and download their ad/spyware scanner let it scan all the way thru and then reinstall your internet browser and you should be good to go

Try counterspy, great tool, detects even the smallest viruses, and don't be worried, I have 12 viruses running whilst I am typing this, and my comp still functions.

Alright, I'll be sure to try those scans out.

I'm not worried about my comp breaking down, I could always just reformat.

I AM worried about sending weird ass emails to my friends/bosses/family

Thanks guys

I was going to post a link to that Smile
Windows defender is by far the best antispyware out there IMO, I've used it since it first was released as Microsoft Antispyware, it works great, and I've ever had a problem with it.
