Viewsonic makes good monitors for cheap, with great refesh rates and everything i got a va520 17" lcd view sonic Looks great , for Cheap. But really and truely your best bet is to shop around and find something that is right for the amount of money you want to spend.

go onto the dell website www.dell.com and look at their monitors, they have some high quality monitors for prices ranging from 250-3000$

i'm never trusting dell again since they lock up every little thing that can improve their screwups. there are 2 new companies that put out screens that are actually quite good. their names are x2gen and hanns. i have 2 of each not counting my envision screen.

The problem with 300$ lcds is sometimes, you need a stand for it, then the stand ends up being 400$.

well heres a little advice if ur getting a lcd monitor
Dont put the silver scheme with windows xp and Dont leave a window maximized for too long.
and keep in mind lcds have very short lifespan, compared to those big ass old screens, so when ur not on it, its always best to turn it off instead of letting the screen saver on

and dell makes good screens, trayne i dont see why u would want to open up a lcd monitor, its not like u can add a video card or some ram =/

for the envision, i tweaked the board for a higher refresh rate and insulated it so it doesnt burn out to keep the lifespan even longer. dell locks thiers up.

hanns comes with a stand if thats a worry.
