Xbox 360 controller configuration for PC.

Ok, ive got a Xbox 360 controller (even though i dont own a 360) becuase it works prettu nice on the PC for emulators. Only problem is i was trying to play Sonic Adventure DX(for PC) and the diagonals are not assigned so if i try to play im not really able to turn well. Is there a way to set up the 360 buttons to take the place of the keybrd buttons. Because some controllers allow you to set up the buttons as if they were on the keybrd.
