Cant get 2 LOD going

I followed wm_hunters guide but when I go too run the 2nd shortcut it says that I have used a key for the wrong product...Whats the deal?

not hard to work out, you used a fake cd key or you put the cd key in wrong or the other way round. You cant get on battle net using a generated cd key so dont try.

If your using a legit key, then take a screen shot so others can see exactly what is going on.

im having this problem too except when i try to connect to bnet with the 2nd one it says that this cd key is already in use but i followed the guide and made sure i put my other d2 and d2 lod cd keys in the right place...hit the refiller but it wouldnt work...i have tried multiple times and idk if i have to remove the other tries from the registry because i have just kept merging each try into the registry. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i actually just figured it out. Instead of copying the cdkey.mpq to the diablo II folder i cut and pasted it and tried to login again and got in.

This is an easier method i use (stops all that mpq crap). If you have the space this is much easier.

Install Diablo 2 and lod normaly, When it asks you to specify a location change the name to something like Cd key 1. When its finished installing move the entire folder to your desktop.

Then install another copy of diablo 2 to a different location and name it cd key 2. Patch both games, put d2 loader in both directories, make links and it should work.

If it dosent let you install a second copy, copy the folder and paste it somewhere, now uninstall the game and reinstall it using differnt keys. Since it only uninstalls the original you will have two copies.

I use this method because the mpq stuff is just a pain in the ass and hard to troubleshoot if something goes wrong.
