what if some one moddify'd the d2patch.mpq file, to have some thing extra like, make a certin monster drop like a Jah Rune so it wouldnt change the game criticly so that you might be able to go on closed b.net with ur slightly moded mpq file and snag the jah, doubt its possible, but im not sure on the laws of the d2patch.mpq.

nope because monster drops are controlled by the server, not the client. You dont use your d2patch.mpq on the server really.
The only things you get off your d2patch is images or things that dont effect gameplay. If you changed the price of something it might show a value of 1,000,000 gold in game but you will only get its normal value on battle net.
