Ok, so ive been with BS for a while about a year give or take, and we have not hade a SOTW, in all that time, also i have sat back and watched while the graphics section has gone down, and im not the only one in on this, not only has it become a popularity contest it has lost all new artistic tallent, tho there are a few who do not follow the mold, so i have taken it apon my self to start a SOTW (sig of the week) i will watch it with help from dann(who fully agrees with me) we will start with really broad options for the theam, but move to harder one over LONG periods of time, so with out futher adue

The rules

1. the sig must handed in by the friday of that week (this week would be 05/12)
2. they must follow the theam, this will be watched by dann and i
3. no biger than 400x125
4. once turned you cannot edit the post with out dann and/or my permition or it will auto DQ

also i dont think we need to see sigs that come strait from a tutorial. the point of this is to show your own creative skill not how well you can read and follow instructions.

Uhm what does that mean exactly? If you don't like the outcome you're gonna veto it? If you guys want to judge it then judge it, if you want the ppl to decide let them decide having both isn't exactly right. Just because everyone likes one sig that you might not like doesn't mean that it doesn't deserve to win. I mean afterall it is completely opinion based, there's not rubric or anything to go by. Everyone has their own opinion of what good is. For you it may be aristic, for frogman is may be depth, for me it may be does it have a cool animation. That's what makes things like this cool, is the diversity of the entries, because everyone usually goes for different effects of what they think looks the best. Look at the 1st round of the sig tourney. The same 3 renders where used and the outcomes were completely different.

So anyway, that's my 2 cents to either have it one way or the other, not both.

im all for having a strait poll. i believe sba is refering to people votiing for other people because they are buddies or they have made sigs for them and what not. that judging should not be a popularity vote and instead be a vote for artistic talent. i dont feel that the sotw should be judged by any one or group of idividuals and should be left up to the masses, but i also dont feel that an untrained eye can rightly judge something they know nothing about. just saying something looks "good" dosnt rightly qualify it to be a nice art piece. look at Van Gogh. during his life most people felt his art looked horid and today they are all masterpieces because he was inovative in his design .

hmm.. u didnt even do that urself! look at ur submission post, ur sig is there... do u know how long it took to load on my 31.2k connection? (stupid highspeed keeps screwing up). And i dont mean to be imposing, but "theam" is actually written "theme"
