Ok Ok do this:
1. Uninstall and delete everything related to hero editor (all the files)
2. Go and download hero editor v0.8
3. Then download hero editor v0.82
4. Read the readme's
5. Double click on hero editor v0.82 icon
6. Have fun editing
Make sure your download isnt interrupted. You probably didnt get the full download, which is why i say try it again. Follow my method above.

Then I guess you are just missing files that you accidentally deleted. Try typing in the missing file in google and see if there is a site where u can download it. Otherwise get Kazaa or something and type in the missing file in search and see if anything turns up.

FIRST: READ THESE Dos and Don'ts
1) Hero Editor usually requires that you are using an English version of Windows. Make sure that you set the "regional and language settings" to English. In particular, make sure your computer is set for single byte letters, NOT multiple byte letters. (NOTE: I have never had this problem, but others tell me this solved the problem for them.)
2) If you are using Windows 2000, NT, or XP, then make sure you have Administrator rights when you install Hero Editor.
3) If you left click on an item picture and the mouse cursor jumps to the bottom right of the screen, then go into the Options tab and in Option (5) “WinXP Mouse Jump Correction”, select “Disable Mouse Centering”.
4) If pictures don't seem to line up properly, you probably need to set your screen to use Small Fonts.
Download Hero Editor V0.80 Complete Installation.
UNZIP it. There should be three files ("setup.lst", "setup.exe", "Hero Editor.CAB"). Run (double click) the"setup.exe" file (or just "setup", if you have known file extensions hidden), and follow the directions (Click on the big button, on the left side). BTW, if a message comes up re “Version Conflict”, answer yes (to keep the newer file that you already have).
If you follow ALL of the above instructions, then any missing operating system files should automatically be installed. If the above doesn't work, then repeat the above, but answer "no" to any messages.

I Have Absolutely No Clue What Single Or Multi Byte Letters Are.
If You Could Please Tell Me What They Are And Where To Change Them, I Would
Greatly Appreciate It.

Hm... I have never had the problem myself, so I am not sure how to solve the problem.
Try the following; it is based on what others have told me:
- Start, Settings, Control Panel
- run Regional Settings
- look for something about English and single byte Unicode characters
I hope this helps.
