Internet Relay Chat
IRC is a great program to get people with similar interests talking to eachother. It is very easy to use (if you know the commands) and is a great way to keep in touch with everyone.
Why IRC?
Because it's easy to use, doesn't take up a lot of space and it's very effective.
What does IRC have to do with me?
Who knows? Maybe you want to make a trade with someone, maybe you want to get a rush or free items (lawl), xfers, ancients ETCETC. IRC would be a great place to ask.
Where can I get IRC?
The most popular IRC client is mIRC, which you can download HERE.
What server to I go to?
I still testing this. I am currently working on my own private server that anyone on Useast SCL can use. The server is 70.83.139.55:6667.
All you have to do when it prompts you is add the server. When connected, it will ask for a channel. The one I am running is #USESCL.
Thanks for the test, guys. See you in there.
EDIT: I suck at explaining that stuff. Can someone who isn't retarded make a post in here explaining how to use IRC? I'll rep ya.

Connection just keeps timing out. As if the server isn't actually up at all.

Teach me how to open up port 6667. That is likely the problem.
AFK waiting for response, taking down windoze firewall.
Oh BTW some stupid kid thought it would be funny to report my thread for "Advertising."
ADVERTISING SOMETHING NICE FOR THE SITE.

Well, is Window's Firewall the only firewall you have?

I have a router, but I'm not really sure if that has anything to do with it. I'm pretty sure most IRC server hosts use routers too. =/

Hey Pant, can people on west join? Could you also make a ventrilio server for the server and maybe give DIIS a little jumpstart?

Ok. Go to Control Panel > Security Center.
Click on Windows Firewall at the bottom. Go to exceptions. Click add port. Viola. =D

I don't see why people from West couldn't join. I'll just change the channel from USESCL to D2sector so everyone can be a part of it.
As for the ventrilo, impossible. I don't have the money for that kind of stuff. I do, however, have a teamspeak server that my friend runs that I could most likely use for this. I'll get back to you on that one.

Did this. I guess my computer is too scrubby for this stuff. I'll get a friend to host this for me.

Forkin' hate routers.
No worries. I won't even bother trying to deal with that beast. I'll wait til my buddy gets in from work.

Yeah maybe make a little section for diablo 2 then some sub sections for realms ect on the teamspeak server. Talking instead of typing can save a lot of time.

It isn't hard. For most routers, open this in your browser: 192.168.0.1
The default login for most routers is Admin assword. Once you're in your router control panel, just go to port forwarding and open whatever port for incoming and outgoing transmissions

My router has a non-default password because I've broken into it before. Dad got pissed and locked me out.
