New G7 Cordless Laser Mouse

Hey,

I just bought a new G& Cordless laser Mouse from Logitech. I use Mozilla's Firefox, so I'm used to just clicking the scroll button to open links in new tab. However, I can't do this with my new mouse. It's driving me insane. I've tried giving it a new keystroke (ctrl+w) but that just closes my window instead of creating a new tab. Anyone know how to fix this?

Wrong hot key, the correct hot key is Shift + Click.

EDIT: grrrr it won't let me perform the "click" command in the keystroke box. Any other way to do it?

EDIT 2: Shift click opens in a new window, I'm looking for the command to open in a new tab. This was entirely my fault, I typed the question incorrectly.

I'm looking for a way to open links in a new TAB with the scroll's click function.

In other words, what is the keyboard keystroke function to open a link displayed on a website in a new tab?

For now...

To open a new tab press CTRL + T

To open a link in a new tab, hold down the ALT key when clicking.

Ok sure, I also found this on wikipedia, it seems as it MIGHT solve my problem. However, I want to avoid using scripts. I'll use it if it's a last ditch effort. Can anyone check that it's safe (and tell me where to edit it into, in case I decide to use this script)?

To be honest I have fire fox and I just was playing around with It to see if I can solve your problem, and I was looking at everyone’s post and an idea popped in my head!

Okay this is what you do Ctrl + Shift + T and click that opens the link in a new tab smartass2

Just use Ctrl + Click opens it in a new tab.

Does the middle button do anything at all? If not, try updating the drivers.
