Ladder or Non-Ladder?

I haven't played Diablo II in a long time and i'm not too sure about all this ladder stuff, can anyone give me a basic idea of which is better?

if ur just starting out ladder is betetr
easier to get stuff then non ladder

ladder is funner.. more runewords and such its really your pick

razrmeth, its the exact opposite.
ladder is way harder than nl becuz its harder to find good items like soj
however, ladder do provide more runewords and features
so i strongly recommend ladder

i started playing on nl and that's where ig ot rich(sortof). but i always wished i started on ladder because of all the extra runewords/items you can get.
