help! downloaded bad hack!

Hi, this is my first post, new to this forum. I play US west, ladder, and i recently downloaded supposedly maphack. When i downloaded it, i went into game and dropped my items . i deleted the program rigth after. Im not sure if there were any other viruses on that program, and don't know if it's safe to log back on. Please help with suggestions on what to do, thanks

sounds like you went straight to a website while you were in game.....it loaded a file into your computer via your internet browser.
i imagine if you scan with anti-virus and anti-spyware you will be just fine. if your still hesitant you could always reformat

i dont have any anti-virus or spyware programs, except for ad-adware, do you think that will be enough? thanks for the help

Glad to hear. If you wana help the site out, vote! Tap, exactly what update files should i choose? I've had a trogan on my pc for weeks now, but it really has not bugged me. But if this update can take it out, that would be great.

ok, ill check them out. so far AVG has found no viruses, and ad-adware has found like 40 items but none of them are sevre, or look like anything i would need to worry about. i think im safe, thanks alot
