What's with people in d2 that will pay 2-3 times the price of something because it's perfect? this is some rare conatgeous disease that has spread all over d2 and it's maddening.
why in the world would you pay an extra couple hrs or sojs when all you're actually getting is a +20 def small charm, or a +2 resist all small charm. does that make any damn sense??? no.
soo soo stupid.

Agreed, the worst is the difference that I've seen is between a 5 res on a fort. 25% costs like 4 soj and for that extra 5% is 7 soj.

Can you say stupidity, I would never pay that much for something even if I really needed it.

I like to sell these items to people lol. but if it was like414%ed and 415%ed and someone paid lots extra for that 415%ed i'd say they need some mental help(and a life). i personally try to get the best deals on perfect items i can but its not dire that its perfect. i see where some people are coming from and sometimes that extra stat on the item really helps. it depends, sometimes i'd spurge on a perfect item. make you look a lot more godly too lol. but perfect items have more of a chance to be a duped item too so you sorta have to watch out too.

the only reason i could think of someone wanting a perfect item instead of for showing off would be for duels. if two barbs had exact same equipment and same build then maybe a tiny bit of extra def might matter. i doubt it though, seriously.
i had no idea fort was worth that much. you must be non ladder?

i've remade several characters several times becuase of a few (5-6) misplaced stat points and to me it seemed to make a difference. BUT, people with a lot of high runes and such usually will only pay for perfection. to me it doesn't really matter as long as it isn't a piece of shit

I'd pay crazy for perfect item's. I payed 17 hr's I think for perfect mara's. And I payed 43 hr's (worth in items) for a fletch on ladder (PERMED!!!!) , then account got gg stripped. igh: Alot of people want the best duelers, with only the best equipment, and when we do, we get people like you saying "omgzorz l00kiE @ teh ub3R geaR cak3z".

See guys, i thought the same way you do, but after i made my char if ound out why...
lets say you got a 32 hoto, a 21 maras, and some other items that give resistance..
Think about it...
8 resistance here, 9 resistance there...it adds up if you think about it. it's like wearing another expensive item, and in hell where there are 8 people in the game, that number of resistance really matters...
and another reason is all people do is play diablo 2, thats their life, and that is what they do because they are too fat to do anyything else

lol. yeah i'll only want perfect items if they are missing important stats like res etc but not if its something minimal.

You guys are completely missing the point. It's not like Mara's 28 and sc +2 all = Mara's 30. Space is vital. Some PvP is completely equipment based, for example, BvB. You need as much defence as is possible. Same for Paladins, because Holy Shield multiplies your defence so much that a few extra defence points really do make the difference.

I never called you stupid and never pointed it in your way, I am saying that you might get the best but you wont be the best untill you actually know how to use the chara and it wont make you godly.

....my pvp sorc is worth somewhere around 100hrs. do you think i was able to get that much gear without being good? the way i play her, she is pretty damn close to unbeatable. every char i've dueled i've beaten. some even when i've had 3k ping. you can stack as much sorb and resists as you want and the best you are going to get is a draw. i'll admit, items dont necessarily =skill, because a lot of people ebay and stuff, but its kind of like a status symbol type thing to me having a perfect sorc. i've earned my wealth and i'll spend it how i want.

I like selling items for more when they are perfect. A while ago when hr's on west ladder = 10fg on Jsp i sold perfect t strokes for 60 fg = 6 hr.

perfect items are also more rare than not perfs
i mean, what are the chances of getting every stat on a spirit perfect compared to getting random variation? well i dont feel like calculating but its high
people pay depending on how rare an item is, not only how good it is
