frostadin?

Hi everyone, ive been expermenting in editor to find som new builds to use, and then i tried a "Frostadin", and it seem'd like a fun char to use smiley2:

this is what i used


Stats:

Str: enough to use items
Dex: if u want block then put some dex
Vit: everything else goes here
Energy: hmm... well,i used no energy


Equipment

[SIZE=2]Helm: Nightwing's Veil (try 2 get as good as possible)

Weapon: Doom berserker axe, also works with war pike

Weapon 2: Call to arms

Shield: Phoenix is very nice in this build, but u can also use zaka

Shield 2: Spirit or lidless

Armor: Fortitude AP or Dusk,eni might work 2

Gloves: Draculs, or some nice ias gloves

Belt: well, i use arach,dungo and snowclash, byt anything goes

Boots: Same as belt, use whater u want

Amulet: i would say mara, but highlords is also good ( u may notice why)

Rings: x2 Ravens or Raven + (ring of your choice)

Wtf, snowclash is completly useless for a pally. Also, why do you use arach? Just because of +1 skill? Dungos is MUCH better b/c of DR + Vit. As boots I'd use gores because of CB and stuff like that. Another point which seems useless for me: Why do you use phoenix? Since you put 20 points into smite, your main attack seems to be smite and as far as I know (still not sure about this, seems little unlogical to me) ED from items like phoenix or forti don't add to smite, so zaka would be the first choice for this, so because ED doesn't add to smite I'd use enigma, too. Raven is not bad (every melee should use this, even you got half freeze duration of nightwings), the second ring should be some res/life/str/dex ring. Maras is ok. For gloves, use dracs or bloodfist for PvP. You see that this build has very very low faster hit recovery rate, so you'll need skillers with FHR which are kinda expensive on bnet. For skills, just put enough into conviction until you reach the point when you need to put 2 points into it to get -1% res. Then, just put the remaining skills into defiance for holy shield synergy. I never tested this build, but I think that it won't be very competitive since you don't have fanatism. Maybe you could put 1 point into fanactism and leave away some stats in conv, or put the rest into fana.

have u tried this? Is it viable in all difficulties? Instead of just posting gear suggestions (which could be composed in a much better way an dgiven more suggestions) why dn't you try this out and see if it even works...? are you solely smite? no zeal?

do a little more work/research and then post bro.

based on his comments.. i'm prreetttyyy sure he isn't a moron and knows this...

U are using smite as you're main skill.. why, i have no idea, but this is what you suggest. therefore, the ED from phoenix will NOT add to your smite dmg, which is your only atk for this build. Try and think a little more, read what rzor wrote, an dcome up with better suggestions/better guide. This isn't comprehensive, you do not mention PvP or PvM, no strats vs anyone, even monsters... and if it's another smite build, well it sucks compared to your typical smiter, in fact it would probably be less fun do to the fact that it seems not viable...

go test it. my friend made a pure HF pally for rushing Normal difficulity and it worked extremely well using enigma and LW i believe or grief for bosses. This looks like a crap version of that, works well in normal and possibly NM but once you get to hell it sucks.

YOU test it, figure out what works best, come up with much better gear suggestions and inventory suggestions , and then get back to everyone.

You sir are an complete idiot since you needn't care about weapon damage when you're a smiter you moron

if you are going to use conviction you have to max it. other people (fohers, auradins) will have a higher conviction level then you and it will cancel out your conviction on them making yours useless.

Guys I think that Pheonix does add to Smite damage, because it acts in the same way as Forti.

Then again, does Forti add? I think yes, others say no. However, if Forti does add, then Pheonix will do as well.

I read from somewhere that all off-weapon ed% adds to Smite damage.

To be honest, this build will not be able to cut it. Using BA is extremely slow, because Conv is your main aura, so no IAS bonus from Fana and you will be Smiting very, very slowly.

You chose your equipment with complete disregard to usefulness and breakpoints. I presume that it could be called a "Fun" build, but I'd love to see the face of the moron that wastes so many HRs on a build that truly sucks.

fortitude does add, whoever says it doesn't should try it out. hit someone with high life with fort on, then with it off. There should be a pretty big difference. ( I did this in .1, it may have changed)

i tried making this build a couple weeks ago its an alright build, in no way would it be good for pvp just because fo resistance/rfrost etc... but if you use zeal instead of smite it works somewhat good for pvm. i would much rather have a hdin or a sorc for pvm though.
