Need Merc Advice

Hey guys sup, haven't posted in a while. Anyways, dudes I need advice on what kinda merc to get and all that. I have no idea wtf a merc is what do I do with the lil bitch. Lol, jk, I'm not that dumb. But yeah, I don't know what merc to get and what gear and all that junk. I need a merc on my hammerdin. Its just a regular hammerdin like the rest of them. So help please. TY.

get a act 2 nm defensive its the holy freeze one is pretty good 4 h din

Either use an Nm act 2 defensive merc or a Hell act 2 defensive merc

Nm Merc gives holy freeze but if you use redemption and since holy freeze can shatter enemies you won't be able to use the monsters bodies for health and mana

Hell merc you get defiance which can increase your defence to well over 25k so its really up to you


items that you should put on them is

insight in a eth giant thresher
either eth stone for a tank or eth fort for a merc that dish out some damage
for helm either eth vamp gaze or andy's visage

Ok Act2 merc is completely out of question. I always use redemption and I need it lol. So besides the act5 merc, what are my options? Also please describe the uses and advantages of the merc u suggest please. TY

why do you need redemtion? is it because of mana?

if it is because of your lack of mana thats where the Insight Runeword wep comes in handy on your merc.

Also ive seen that Frater perfers a Act 3 merc with his hammerdin. i cant recall what gear it was that he equipped him with, but you can probably find it in the char delopment section

To build the best freakin' merc, do the following:

Get a Defensive Merc from Act II, (NORM or HELL) preferably same or 1 level below your own.
Equip him with an elite eth bugged Fortitude armor. EL SOL DOL LO
Equip him with an elite eth insight.
Equip him with an eth CHAMed or UMed Vampire Gaze or Crown of Thieves. Alternate: RALed Andariel's Visage.

my hdins merc used the following and the only place I every had any trouble with him was in hell chaos and that was just about 30% of the time.
1. eth ca insight
2. eth fort
3. eth andys visage

Before I used this set up I used vamp, stone and doom ca and did just fine but what ever gear you decide to equip your merc with I would strongly suggest using an insight. It makes all the diffrence in the world or did for me anyways but my hdin was uber elite and the only problem I every had with him was running out of mana. one more thing, the holy freeze from doom kicks ass but the holy freeze off of a a2 nm merc doesnt seem all that great so you might wanna go with a defiance merc instead or I think if you use the merc that uses the might arura then he will get insane damage with your hdins conc arura. Whatever you decide to use I hope it works out well for you.

Thank you guys for giving advice. Well now I'll give some more information on my part. Right now I'm not rich enough to be buying insights and the junk. I don't even know what insight is ROFL. But anyways, I wanna START getting a merc right now so I can start lvling it up. And the reason I want redemption is because of life. I NEVER run out of mana, its the life I'm worried about. I switch to redemption often to fill up my life, that makes it so I don't use pots. So if you guys STILL have a really good reason for why I should get holy freeze merc, after considering the redemption aspect, I'll use holy freeze. And besides the holy freeze mercs, what else is there? When you advise me, please include which act it is, what difficulty, and HOW the merc will help me. Thank you guys for helping me out.
