Much respect for google. For one thing, it's run by russians, and I too was born in russia. The way they run the company is the way I would run one (which isn't to say that I'd be anywhere near as successful). What I've always liked about google is the fact that they don't even seem to be interested in making money, to the casual observer. They've always appeared to be the kind of company that would rather improve the internet expirience, even though they certaintly do make a very impressive amount of money, as this purchase clearly indicates. Anyways, although I'd like to discuss this aquisition at greater length, I have some C++ homework that needs to be attended to

the main problem with google owning everything, they could effectivly censure all of the content thats put onto the internet. also, youtube has been prodominantly add free, and now with google, i worry that the once "clean" website will be bogged down with adds. going back to the censureing, google, if it were to become corrupt, (more power, more liable to corruption) could mind cintrol everyone by putting content that its CEO or gov only wants us to see. youtube will no longer be independent.

with all due respect, i enjoy google and use its features on a daily basis, but this time i feel as though it has gone to far

You should have read the article and some related to it, then. Besides, is google.com bogged down with ads? Not to my knowladge. There's some chance you're right about that 'corrupted by power' thing, but they've always seemed to be on the side of not censureing the internet. I mean really, they bought youtube, and that site was threatened with tons of lawsuits due to the uploading of copyrighted content. Damn it I have to hurry up and finish watching all my animes on there before they get deleted! XD

I think that this may not be the best move for Google. YouTube does get a lot of visits but the oppertunity for revenue on such bandwidth costs has plauged the previous owners into selling in the first place.

I will be interested to see how Google plans to turn such a popular site into a good profit maker.
