so as most of you probably know, west's market is all messed up because of all the duping going on. now for my last 2 trades ive gotten duped items and they have poofed after i trade them (with in an hour); so i want to know, is there any way to perm duped items so they dont poof anymore? If so would you mind filling me in?
thanks to any the help.

Some items, they say if you use the anya quest reward, and name them, it will perm, but this might of just been an old rumor. I have heard cases of this working.

I think he means buying items for using, not as tradables. but as tradables, yes mule them all.

what i mean is this, lets say i get a soj in a trade, but the soj is a duped soj. would there be anyway to 'perm' that soj so it does not 'poof'? (not to insult your intelligence by saying you dont know what happens to duped items when d2's security system finds them, but it seems like it needed clairafacation).

first off, no most of us did not know that because most of dont even play d2 anymore and a large percentage of those that did/do play(ed) east.
and to answer your question no there is not a way to perm them.

what about the trick where you get someone to accept a trade then you quickly exit the game?

Actually there is a permanent perm, if you upgrade an item then it wont poof because the item id changes, another way to perm is to cube runes. Both of these apply for ladder only though. :p
PS! Naming does not perm.

I do believe personalizing an item does work. I have had some items that I knew were duped e.g. like the Eth-Cara on my nl Barb. Never poofed.. So take it as you will best advise if ya got a dupe temp perm it every game you leave if possible...

there are many theories, but here are the main ones i have heard and found believable:
1.personalize/name it where you do the anya quest and you personalize it with your char's name.
2.selling it and buying it back from a merchant/npc
3.socketing it, it worked for my 08valk
4.muling it, but you probably wanna use it
5.temp perm:go accept trade with someone and hit the green check and hit save and exit as quickly as possible.
those are the only ways i find to work/believable. but hey, if im wrong dont flame me. like bloody stated, half of us quit playing d2 so we dont really know whats going on.
If you reallllly want a a legit soj, you could go trade on d2jsp and request a legit soj and if it does indeed poof you can report he or she if that makes you feel any better

Wizard spike gloves/armor/helms/ammys, all that good shit aren't supposed to be in the game, which is why they can never be permed, I think. I don't play D2 anymore either, haven't in over a year. Haha

well thanks for all the ideas. im pretty sure the BotD i just got is real. (i traded a 5 open socked berzerker axe for it). now i just need to build a character to use it...or trade if for something else...
thanks again...ill try some of the things afore mentioned if i happen to come across something i think is duped...even if its not garanteed to work...

Actually upgrading the item does work, ive used many times on many items as well as runes, personalizing the item, doesn't work, where you get your info i do not know, but upgrading infact changes the item ID, all those that say no to me your wrong, cry.
Selling and buying it back is one way to TEMP PERM, but not permanently, so far repairing the item useing the cube has worked wonders for me and has yet to poof , as far as it being for sure i do not know.
