how is d2 addicting?
#1
i hear EVERYONE complaining about how d2 is addictive and they can't stop playing etc. they claim its like a drug. what is it that makes the game so addictive? why is it addictive? i've played it with an old friend nearly 2 years ago. he had become so addicted to it that he never did anything but play that game. i however was never addicted by it. like i was somehow.. protected from it. now i've started playing occasionally again. still not addicting to me. nor is anything else, another strange topic. why is it that i am never addicted to things as other people are? is it just me? or are other people "addiction free" or unable to be addicted? (please answer that question for me.) now back to d2. it's lik theres some kind of special power coded into that game taking control of people and forcing them to keep playing the game. in some cases becoming like a drug. tearing apart your life as you keep playing, never doing anything else. is there something behind blizzerd entertainment? something mystical? some dark power taking control of the souls of the players? i'm guessing the same addiction is found in other blizzard games such as WOW warcraft III and starcraft etc. what is it? is satan himself behind blizzard? what is going on with these games? its so addicting to people that they are making false advertisements of d3 a game which does not exist. though it was in development a few years ago. they cancelled it due to the success of WOW. so in conclusion my questions are these... what makes diablo and other blizzard games so addictive. and why am i not affected? (please forgive my horrid penmanship... i'm not much of a writer...)

Ok I will attempt to answer this multi-question. I think it depends on the game and how hard you fall in love with it. I like WoW but am in love with FFXI online. It is more complex and has a much richer storyline IMO... I am not an avid *gamer* ...per se....but I am addicted to FFXI online. I have 3 accounts and a total of 30 mules..if you know what those are...and a total of over 300mil in gear...probably more....
What makes it addicting? It is fun...and challenging....just that simple.

Anything can be addictive, it's a mental problem some have and some fortunate like you don't have to deal with. From alcohol, drugs, trading cards, games and dinosours hell and basically anything you can be obsessed about is just the same thing.

its addictive becauce once u finish something, something new suddenly appears to finish, and so on.

It's addicting if you're playing with a bunch of real life friends. After that goes away the game loses its luster.

i find d2 addicting because once your done playing it and get off, all you do is think about playing it until you play it again which makes it like a drug lol. and when you play it, you'll sacrifice eating and other personal things just to play the game.
