If "god" works that way then how come so many good people have shitty lives? How comes it seems like so many assholes have everything?

define shitty, and in many ways god is testing you. cause i know one person who is a christian and is really good. use to be troubled, but now has a lot of money and has a lot of good things coming to her.

Many of the assholes of the world have everything because their assholism is a byproduct of getting everything they want. Most of the time these people were just lucky. Luck > Karma always.

I understand what you are saying, but thats not really my question. There are many good people that work hard, but are starving, sick, or on the verge of homelessnes. That is one of the examples that I am refering to.
