What level does my mind blast need to be before I see "Swirls over peoples head"

I heard your supposed to max mind blast in order to see swirls is this true and do I need it for for a pure trapper? I also wanted to know what shadow I should use, I'm completely stupid when it comes to trap sins because this is the first one I'm going to make, I would appreciate any help I could get.

I am not 100% sure about this, but I am quite certain that:
1) Any Mind Blast level will do. Never put more than 1 point into it.
2) Yes, Mind Blast is pure Trapper's main weapon.
3) Do not skill Shadows, waste of points. You should get a claw with +1 Shadow Master.
4) Shadow Master only uses the skills that you have, i.e. you don't have Mind Blast skilled, he won't have it either.

I'm a little tight on time right now, but I'll write something about Trappers in the evening.

I also heard that Shadow Master does not use mind blast as often unless you max mind blast, and that traps work much more effectively when you see swirls so this is false then eh if it isn't is it necessary? I remember my friends trap sin that I used to use every once in awhile it had level one mind blast but I NEVER saw any swirls which I thought was pretty strange at the time because when some other assassins mind blasted me I would see swirls. Also what do swirls do exactly? Do you think you could confirm this for me please? I really need to know, I dont really want to remake my sin if I can avoid it. I would definitely appreciate it if you could help me.

Once again, I am quite certain that any level on Mind Blast will do. As for the frequency at which Shadow Master uses Mind Blast, I have no idea.

What the "swirls" do and how FHR% generally works:
In order for someone to go into their FHR% frames, you will need to do enough damage to remove at least 1/12 of their health (I believe that's the correct figure), however some barbs, etc have high life and resists so that they don't even go into FHR% when your traps hit them. That's where Mind Blast comes in, because not only does it Stun someone, when the "swirls" appear, it means that each and every hit will send them into FHR frame, even if it's 1 damage by a Raven.
