The Protector
#1
I watched this movie last night and it was awesome. The star is a master of Muay Thai and I never realized that it was so badass. There were no wires, no CGI, and no stunt doubles in this movie and he was doing some crazy stuff. Has anyone else seen this movie or Ong Bak: The Thai Warrior? I want to see Ong Bak now because Tony Faa is sick.

Doh... Thats what everyone has told me about it. He beats up like 200 people over an elephant rofl. Nevertheless it was a great flick.

i've heard many people say that the protector was a serious letdown when compared to ong bak. so i didn't bother watching it.

that said ong bak is THE $**T. i own the american and thai version of the film. not really much of a difference IIRC. i'll have to watch them agian. i just wish they wouldn't have had the taxi chase scene last so long.

as for him being a master of muay thai...i think that's pretty much false. there's no record, that i can find of him (jaa) ever stepping into a ring and fighting. as a former muay thai student myself, i think it's pretty wrong to market tony jaa in such a way. as far as i know he was later in his life trained in muay boran. a classical style of muay thai that teaches elbows to the top of the head and many of the moves you see in ong bak, are authentic techniques of muay boran. but he's basicly a screen fighter.

but yeah tony jaa is entertaining to watch.

ong bak was much better in my opinion because it was the first time i ever seen something like that before. Protector was pretty good tho

id say watch ong bak. in my opinion its not as great as tom-yum-goong or "the protector" as u all know it as since ong bak is only muay thai and in protector u see him learn other styles like capoeira and tae-kwon-do. i never saw "the protector" since i think america edited some parts out and the fact that i alrdy saw it as tom-yum-goong
