Been a few topics on it, I started when it first came out and had a mixed opinion on it for a while, however, now that I'm more 1337 at it I love it.
Alot of people bought Prophecies and thought GW was gay because of it, however the original campaign had a much MUCH steeper learning curve then the other 2 campaigns, and once you get a char to all 3 campaigns your chars can form an incredibly strong party. (The customizable heros from nightfall really do the trick)
Then theres the others who think max of level 20 blows, however you don't get all your power from leveling, most of the power of your character comes from what skills you use, and the armor/runes you wear, you can't buy all the skills at the start of the game nor do you have enough skill points to get them even if you do have the gold, and rare elite skills have to be found and captured from the boss who possesses them. Skill points are gained through leveling up, (or if your level 20, simply gaining experience), and from quests/missions. You don't have to farm monsters to gain levels either, a majority of leveling happens as a result from quests and missions which give tons of experience.
Guild Wars also has a set, in game market that is moderated by npcs. Basically you can buy runes, you HAVE to buy armor from them, and you can buy some weapons from npcs in town. And unlike diablo 2, Gold is actually a viable currency. (While some people trade more valuable items for larger trades)
I actually take any char from Prophecies and Nightfall that I'm working on to Factions because the amount of quests in the area you ship into is incredible, that alone can nearly max out your char.
Anyone else play? I have 3 level 20s from each campaign, a Warrior (Prophecies), an Assassin, and a Dervish. Rest of my chars are work in progress. I also pvp but I'm not active in a guild or HOH group.
Also, if anyone needs a run to Draknors Forge, gime a shout.
The guys at NC soft also state that they plan to release 2 more expansions this year, I'll probably buy em both, with each expansion you are allowed more chars for your account and you have access to a wider variety of characters, plus a whole new game world along with new skills for each of the old classes.
