When people say they have "Up'ed" Gores, what does that mean and how do you "Up" them?

It would change Gore Rider War Boots into Gore Rider Myrmidon Greaves. Before you use this recipe to up and item you should check what the base defense on an item can be and if it is not much better (i.e. Vampire Gaze) then you shouldn't up it. Thats just a little more info on the subject that I thought may be useful in your future endeavors.

If you "up" an item, it raises the item from normal to exception, or exceptional to elite, see here: The Arreat Summit - Items: Weapons and Armor.
Each item has a corresponding counterpart in each level of an item. For example, a cap is the normal version, a war hat is the exceptional version, and a shako(normal/white not the unique) is the elite. As you can see, they get better as they go up. But the level, strength and sometimes other stat requirements also get higher. You shouldn't have to worry about that with upping your gores though.

The formula for upping you need is [SIZE=-1]1 Ko Rune + 1 Lem Rune + 1 Perfect Diamond + Exceptional Unique Armor = Elite Version of Armor. You put your gores into your cube with the other parts of the recipe and transmute it and your gores will be [/SIZE][SIZE=-1]Myrmidon Greaves instead of War Boots. They will have higher defense and will be worth more in trades (not sure how much) too.

Not necessarily... The defense can go down actually if you are unlucky. This along with the higher strength requirement can bring the value down. I think my post better explained it.
