Router keeps disconnecting
#1
Hi there i'm not a computer nerd so please dont laugh if i said something stupid but any help would greatly appriciated

im using an Airlink101 AR410W Router (i need to connect an ethernet cable from my computer to the Router so im guessing it's not wireless)...the router is fine and everything...it's just that sometimes (often) after like 30 mins (depending on day...sometimes every 10 mins) the Router automatically disconnect the internet to both of my computers and reconnect it in like 2 seconds...I dont mind when I search the web but when Im downloading something or playing a game online...it just kicks me off...anyway to fix this? Thanks for helping

it could be a number of things..
i did a google search, and it came up with two things
1. install latest firmware
2. it could be your internet service provider
3. change static ip to dynamic ip (my idea)
your internet provider could be changing its ip adress every thirty minets, so i recommend dynamic ip. i had the same problem with utorrent

go into your router settings, if you dont know how to, here are links to the manual and quick start.
the static and dynamic routing can be found on page 30 of the manual

If you go on the blizzard website it has manuals on routers and what not and problems they get.....Discon and what not....It will tell you step by step with most of them have pictures to go with it. I personally think you have a firewall, that is the problem i have had in the many times i have played games.

How long has your router been doing that? According to those model numbers of yours, it is wireless (802.11g) so turn it off if your not using it. Who knows, might help.
