Socketing Problems

Hey, I'm new here and new to zonfire's Hero Editor. Recently, I've been trying to "7 socket" my items, but can't seem to do it, i.e. I can't make an axe with a maximum of 4 sockets have more than 4 jewels or runes in it. When I try to start a game I receive a Bad Generic File error message. If I try to socket the item in my game, after I save and exit and try to rejoin I get a Bad Dead Bodies error message. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

i just right click on a item and pres sock item,then there u go...if u want more,add the attribute increase # of sockts by #...and there u go...

Thanks Alfzz, but I already knew that lol. Still appreciate the help. I can get an item to have a bergillion socket. Problem is, I can only get a maximum of 6 jewels in those sockets without the game crashing. What is goin on:confused:

ok ull have to make it magic i believe for 7 socates u cant socate in on the internet u have to do it with Zonfires editor . hope this helps and i hope i remember correctly lol

Make sure you're not using an item that has neewbie flag or the item won't be given "permission" to have more than 3 sockets. [Had to tack on an extra e in "neewbie"]

^-- please disregard that u can have up to 6 socates in ANYTHING but 7 is for magic i believe once agian i dont remember.

The maximum sockets for items with Quality of Low, Normal, or Superior is 6.

The maximum sockets for items with Quality of Magical, Unique, Set, Rare, or Crafted is 7.

As has already been mentioned, use Increased Sockets to get enough available sockets.

I've had like 20 something sockets in items using hero editor, but like u guys said, only 7 things can be socketed before it crashes.

lol....i saw a guy in open bnet with 224 sockets...He showed me in the trade screen...not sure why didnt he crashed...

if you actually have the jewels or whatever you're putting in the sockets with you, it'll work in that game and that game only. I put 18 jewels in an armor in game but when I saved and exited and reopened, it crashed. You could probably use an in game editor to just keep copying jewels and put em in the item. That's how you're buddy got his 224.
