A hard choice
#1
I am about to have my 15 year old cat put down. She has cancer and sick and it needs to be done....but it is hard.

My daughters cat (still a kitten) Needs de-clawed and nueterd...he is grown but young. When I get him nuetered...well any guy here will be shuddering at this point.

That's a real shame and I know it's hard to do. The only positive thing is that you are prepared for it(as much as one can be). I think the ones you never expected are a lot more painful to deal with, the shock is what really gets to you. I'm 25 and I have had a couple of my childhood pets that were put to sleep. The one that hurt the worst of all though, was the one that seemed healthy and passed during the night. It's tough but remember the good times and just know that your pet wont suffer anymore.

I'm a cat person so it would be really hard for me to put any one of my cats down. (Have had cats but not presently) I am sorry.

Thanks guys (group hugs) I have had to put down a few pets...and it is always hard.
One was run over, and there was no hope and no choice.I cried and held one of my dogs ,as it was euthanised...I didn't want him to be alone, but knew it had to be done.

The cat I am speaking of my kids brought home, and the first time I saw her...she was laying on my chest and purring in my face.

I was like...wtf?
Where did YOU come from? I put her outside for 4 days straight...then gave up and bought a cat box,and food and took her for her shots.

She has tumors all over...because her urinary system has failed...and it makes her have big boils. I would take a syringe and drain them.

Try holding a cat down for this...it is an adventure...

I've never had to put a pet down they have just died for normal causes right now I have a 2 year old dog and is healthy 100% so I'm pretty sure he still has a lot of years in front of him.

Poor thing lost so much weight...she can hold nothing in her tummy.I have a Vet appointment to just get it over with.

I am the *strong one* in my family...and generally these unpleasant tasks fall to me.
It sucks....but someone has to take care of these type things.
