ES Orb Question

Question:
ES Orb sorc - max ice bolt or cold mastery? I would assume cold mastery. I read somewhere that ice bolt really isnt worth it..

The usualy orb sorc build is max out Orb, Ice bolt, and Mastery. The remaining skill points is up to you. You can put points into telekinesis, or another skill tree for cold immunes.

Yes, but I'd like to make an ES Orb, so wouldnt I need to max ES?

And do you know how much extra damage maxing Ice Bolt adds to orb?

Yes, Ice bolt gives 2% damage to Orb for each hard skill points used. Maxing out Orb, Ice bolt, Mastery, and Es. There will still be a few points left.

At lvl 87. You will of maxed out Orb, Ice bolt, Mastery, and Es. With one point into Warmth, and one point into Frozen armor. You will still have 12 extra skill points from skill quests. Which is vital to be put into telekinesis.

Remember you do not need HARD skill points into Es. Think about all the +skills from your gear first. So you can put more into telekinesis.

damn..
i've already maxed es and cold mastery will be maxed in a few more baal runs, orb is also maxed. so next im guessing should be ice bolt and then as many as possible into telk. is it worth it to remake and only take ES to 13-15 or so and put the extra 5-7 points into telk?

Well in order to get 95% on Es. It needs to be lvl 40, but doesn't require hard skill points. So it is alot easier to obtain with gear. But if you don't have gear the skill points you invested may not affect it. Maxing out telekenisis is alot better though. Its up to you now to what you want to build.

Keep in mind Energy shield takes 2 points of mana for every point of life it absorbs.
