Facts To Ponder
#1
FACTS TO PONDER:

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. Is 700,000

(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians Per year are 120,000.

© Accidental deaths per physician Is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human Services.

Now think about this:

Guns:

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. Is 80,000,000.

(Yes, that's 80 million..)

(B) The number of accidental gun deaths Per year, all age groups, Is 1,500.

© The number of accidental death s Per gun owner Is .000188.

Statistics courtesy of FBI

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT

ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends To this Alarming threat.

We must ban doctors Before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld the statistics on Lawyers

For fear the shock would cause People to panic and seek medical attention

Yes I am. I have 2 rifles, and 2 handguns.I am registered, with a permit to carry, and the last test at the range scored expert. In the military I scored expert in both the m-16 and the 50 cal machine gun. My Dad and Uncles taught me to shoot when I was around 5 and at 10 got my first bb-gun.I also taught my kids about weapons, both safety, cleaning, and responsibility in owning and properly maintaing one.

You can do both...we won't mind.SmileBut when I found the statistics,I did a double take.
I have had only one injury from a weapon and it was my arm grazed by a flying rock when we were qualifying. The doofus that missfired did about 50 pushups.

As for Doctors I have been to my share of quacks that caused more harm than good.

Well I think we have to consider what accidental death by doctor means. It could of meant a doctor was trying to help somebody who got ran over by a car, and the doctor had the intentions of restoring him, but the injury was just too severe. Then the people who created the statistics can call it "accidental" death, since there was no intentions of killing the injured person.

Accidental does not mean the patient was hit by a bus.An injury too severe to help someone is not an accidental death by a doctor. To make it even worse look up the number of doctors that have mixed the wrong medications prescribed to THEMSELVES and died....it is pretty scary.

Will I go to a doctor? Sure I will. Will I question them and get facts? You betcha!

Don't forget how many lives are saved by guns each year too!

Guns are just tools, learn to use them right.

People use guns maybe once or twice a month to go hunting or to a shooting range.

Doctors work 12 hours a day 15 days a month.

If every gun owner used their gun that much then that statistic would be valid. However, it is not. And even if you use guns more than that doctors still work exponitially more than gun owners.

Plus, guns save lives, by taking others.

And Tearon, I don't feel like talking about you, you're dumb.
my sig! where ever did it go?

The only problem with your statistics is that you don't include un-accidental gun deaths.
So this brings said statement into question.

Yes I agree with you on that Scott. But accidental means it was not planned or meant to happen.Unlike gang activities,or wars.

This is strictly a matter of opinion and not meant to sway you either way, just as it was pointed out,a Dr. works many hours,at first. Some just do not keep up on continuing learning.

As for accidental gun deaths it can often be directly linked to lack of knowledge on handling a weapon properly.
