Hi, I currently just reinstalled my os (windows xp home), And usually, when I reformat everything is smooth reinstalling drivers ect ect, Well now my sound card cant find its drivers, I dont have the CD to install it again and the ones from their website dont work unless you have it installed already!

Do the following:

Start > My Computer > View System Information > Hardware > Device Manager


Then tell me if there is anything opened with a red x on it or something red.
. . . at ease, i puff trees till i look chinese
. . . and immigration says can we see
. . . your green card, please.....?

uhhh...
i dont know why you said that you cant download it unless you already have the driver installed.. that would kind of defeat the purpose of putting the driver up there in the first place. well i went to the creative website, and found your driver. simple. tell me if anything goes wrong. (and i dont even own a sound blaster)

okay, ive done this thousands of times, thats how creative ****s u i guess, thats an UPGRADE driver... you cant install it with that...

are you sure? im sorry that i gave you the wrong thing, but i think that that file is it. no company will screw you over that badly.. drivers dont update other drivers.. they usually fully replace them. try google searching for older versions then

No they don't, I've gotten the drivers to my soundblaster card, and they work.

I have found many old drivers for sound cards from Creative, they have them for Vista too. INCLUDING Vista 64bits.

I think I have the same old sound card you have. Which is quite old. Try this one. There is also a number on your card that can narrow down the search.

amazingly, my cousin is also having problems with his sound card.. he has the drivers, but windows wont recognize it when it has in the past. weird eh?
