DLP questons
#1
So yea the forever long term of "To DLP or not to DLP" has been plaguing me for 3 years now. atleast he Mitsubishi models I favor are 50% or more off since then.

I need help in deciding what big screen TV to buy. I would like a 52-65" range, due to my children sitting on the floor sometimes in the minimum distance buffer zone. I'm open to all suggestions and ideas. Big Grin

I have a 60 or so inch Samsung Dlp, and it is great. You have to keep in mind that just because you buy an HD tv, doesn't mean you can see things in HD. You must have a channel that broadcasts in HD, and you also need a cable box and exterior antenna that can process the HD.

I don't know how much clearer my Dlp can get. It is crystal clear to me unless your face is within 2 feet of it, you will see a small amount of pixels. But of course who would walk 2 feet close to the tv.

You see the pixels at 5-6 ft or less cause your beyond the minimum range of your size TV. Cnet user guide on TVs give all the ranges of min-max from 40"-75" like the 57" i want is 7ft min - 12or 13ft max whereas the 65" same model is 8ft min-14 max.

Samsung made by Texas Instruments are the 1st company to pioneer plasma TV's.
They have new LED lamps on their DLP's which give a brighter and clearer picture which i was sorta impressed with. Fry's Electronics sells a 57" on sale at 1299 and the uper model at 1599 for the Mitsubishi. Only good points about that model is the bulb replacement is 3 screws of difficulty as well as the only DLP on the market that allows all the color shades to be adjusted. Great blacks shades on it but it has other 2:3 poull down issues n all.

At $1000 i would swoop it up without hesitation but for the non sale price which is over as of yesterday im a lil anxious to drop 1700+ on it. (1699 being the 65" price, 57" @ 1599 for the lesser feature model) oh and add 8.3% sales tax as well.
