Yeh, football is all fun and stuff, but really, the only thing that matters are the commercials. The game is merely a break between these multi-million dollar advertisements (and it doesn't even seem like a break with product placement).
Anywho, this isn't about the economics of the Super Bowl commercial, nor is it about the football game. Were there any commercials in particular you liked/didn't like? Feel free to discuss here.
(And yes, I know Sports are discussed in the Current Events, but this isn't Sports, and even though it could still go in that section, I prefer Small Talk in general, so don't bother moving it.)
---------------------------------------------------
I actually missed some of the first (often ones that become the most well known) commercials because I had other work to do, but overall, I don't think I was as impressed as I usually am with the commercials.
I did have to watch the Pepsi one (for deaf audiences) on Youtube cause I missed it and I wanted to see how it played out. From what I heard about it, I thought it'd be like making fun of the deaf, but I was pleased with the commercial and how they handled it. It may have not been the best there, but it was appropriate for the audience.
Some I did kind of like include the Bridgestone one, with the various screaming forest animals/woman - very interersting and just humorous to hear the various screaming. Also, I may have lol'ed at the FedEx one with the carrier pigeons, especially when all heck broke loose - fun times.
One that I think took the favorite for many was the Budweiser one with the Clydesdale and dalmation. Personally, I didn't find it as entertaining to watch, but I respect those that did, especially since it took the Rocky theme.
Like I said, I probably missed a bunch at the beginning, so I'd have to see some of the popular ones and catch them on Myspace or Youtube (I know there is a channel on Myspace for any who want to see them - MySpace.com - 2008 Superbowl Commercials from Super Bowl XLII: Vote for Favorite Ad Videos), but that's my general concensus on some of the commercials I did see.
