Bad luck has struck on the denizens in World of Warcraft, namely Shailom from the Area 52 realm. He was able to encounter a certain bug after he transferred a copy of his character.
According to his post, he transferred a second copy of his character and gave the guild leader position to one of the officers in the guild. He then deleted his character, renamed his transferred character and got invited back to the guild. They tried promoting him back to GM and found out that the officer never got promoted to GM.
This left their guild GM-less and without access to the guild bank. They keep getting an internal error whenever they would open it.
Blizzard QA Hortus replied that they "allow Guild Masters with guild banks to be transferred to the PTR for convenience but transfered guild banks can cause unforeseen issues." He also said that the only real solution for this is to transfer guild leadership before the character and then transfer the leadership back once the the character copy has been completed.
Furthermore, the Community Manager gave a helpful tip by saying that to try what he proposed with characters there were not previously GMs. He added that they found out through testing that this error occurs with characters that were transfered to the PTR with guild banks intact.
More news to come!
