Ok, well, I've used D2loader since 1.09. Way back in the day I did a 'Full Install' of Diablo II (For Cinematics) because I thought it would run Diablo II faster. I don't know if that information is relevant, but please, read on. Since then, I have recently re-installed D2 (Completely re-installed D2 classic, and completely re-installed D2Lod, (uninstall + reinstall). The whole shabang.). Let's say I'm on my sorc who has completely beat normal mode. I can travel freely through the various acts, much like I should. Now, if I start a new character (for example), and I go kill Andarial, then talk to Warriv to take the caravan west, my D2loader will crash. This happens everytime I advance an act where I did not previously have access. If I had already completed Andy, and was already granted access to act 2, and I decide to take the caravan west there, I will NOT crash. This is unbelievably frusterationg, and any help will be appreciated. I run D2 in windowed mode with -ns and -w. I tried running without -w (IE, full screen mode), and I still crashed out. I've had this problem for a lnog time, for not for the entire duration of my D2loader usage. I do faintly remember a time where I did not have this problem. I'm fairly sure that my 'Full Imstall' must have had something to do with it, becuase that's when I recall the problems starting. Although, I'm not so sure now, because after a completely fresh install, I still have the problem. I do not have any plug-ins, and the only modifications to my d2 folder since the fresh install is the d2loader.exe, and the d2xvideo.mpq/d2xsound.mpq files needed for D2Loader to run without a CD (which it does).
Now, onto what I think might be to blame. It does something like this everytime I advance to a new act, thus triggering a Cinematic. If someone could give me a shortcut tag (IE, -w for windowed, or -ns for nosound) to disable cinematics, I will try this. Of course, when I go to the main d2 menu, and I click on 'View Cinematics', I'm presented with a 'Insert Cinematics disc' prompt for the first five, and the last two simply don't load. I'm almsot sure it has something to do with my 'Full Install' i did awhile ago, but I can't figure out what. (Note: I have a standard install now, NOT a full install, yet I still have the problem.)
EDIT: The name of my d2loader window is the default d2loader name, I did not change it to the standard d2 window name. I also did not over-ride my diablo ii.exe file, I simply placed the D2loader.exe in my dII folder, and I am using a shortcut to that.
