Blizzard's World of Warcraft has undergone a few changes recently, including the implementation of the new combat log and window system. Of course, most new MMO features come with some bugs that normally occur whenever a new feature is rolled out like WoW's new combat log, for instance. Aside from the spam bug, the combat log also seems to suffer with some filtering problems.
The new combat log's filtering issue is basically not being able to screen out crafting done by other players, even if the log is currently set to "Self." One very temporary fix for the bug is by disabling then re-enabling the "Self" option, which gets rid of the existing crafting messages...until new ones start to pile up.
Blizzard's Drysc has acknowledged this instance as a bug, and this is what the blue poster had to say:
Sounds like an issue. It's certainly a first iteration on a fairly ambitious change to the combat log. You may want to visit the UI & Macro forum for assistance in possible workarounds, and of course the Bug Report forum is great for reporting any issues that seem kind of weird, like the one you described.
You heard the guy. If you encountered this or any other kind of bug, do hit World of Warcraft's Bug Report forum to make Azeroth a better place to live in.
