Body modification is body modification. It's a universal and anyone in anyone group could/can/will/might do it for any number of reasons. To say that gaugeing your ear or other forms of body modification is part of the goth culture or punk or rocker culture is both narrow minded and asinine.

I couldn't agree more with that. The guy probably thinks he looks pretty rad, and at the end of the day, why the hell shouldn't he? Although many [myself included] find it repulsive, we know nothing personal about him, nor should we judge him. But hey, we're human beings. Judgement is what we do best.

It gets really frustrating looking at every thread that you post in, and finding you whining about moot points. When you say something stupid on a forums, somebody's going to call you out on it. You're problem is that you try to cover your ass and end up looking even worse. I have nothing against you blue, it's just that this seems to happen WAY for than necessary.

I didn't realy start getting serious.
But then again you can't realy tell how people are acting through text.
Trying to fix on an emotion or thought through text is pretty hard, easily misconstrued, which is what half of this thread is. i'm in no way defending the person in the picture, and in my original post i actualy insulted it through ad hominems. I'm trying to say making a wide sweeping generalization that people who get modifications aren't normal people isn't true. While some aren't sub-normal people, not all people who get modifications are normal, not all are normal, or different in short. You can't just say X person isn't normal because of what they choose to do with physicality. Modifaction, or even clothes, are not a person, as much as you may disagree. They are factors, maybe, but factors don't equal the sum of parts of the person, or whole.
Do you see why it's a tad hypocritical to say what you said in that post now? of course, you're going to disagree now, probably by insulting character and using generalizations, just as i have been doing, which i apologize for, i can be too quick of mouth sometimes.
