My Lack of Skill

Obviously my sigs aren't the best... What is it that I should be doing that I am not, or should not be doing that I am, that would, in SOTW, get me at least 1 vote that isn't from myself?

I thought I did decent this time around with my Sentinel sig, so I'm not seeing the problem. That's why I need your help.

IMO, everything but your Render is kanda plain. It's not that your sig is bad, just a bit average.

And also, man It was vote for who had the best sig. And when it comes to skill, out of people who was in this SOTW, Nex just simply won. He's just more experienced than us. Does that mean we should give up? No, we just need to keep trying tell we make something worth voting for. My suggestion is that you should read up on some tuts, and get some more practice.

I'm not devastated or anything. xD I just would like help on what I can do to improve. I've seen a ton of tuts, it's how I got from the iron man sig to the one I have now, but at this point I think I lack visualizing the style that people are looking for. What do you guys find to be attractive in a signature that I could have added to mine? Or done differently? If I know that, I can play around with different effects that people besides me think are cool.

What software do you use?
If you use gimp i'd suggest you upgrade to photoshop, read around on tuts and try and remember key effects you like, read up on the staples, grunge, abstract, techno, and fractals.
Keep reading up on tuts all the time, but don't expect to become fantastic over night, it takes work and practice, remember to practice your techniques, as you will most likely forget if you don't keep them in practice.
Always upgrade your brushes also, using the same stale brushes limits things.
Also, it's not neccesary but learning to create your own brushes is good and builds overall skill a lot more than juts using someone else's.

I like seeing sharp clear sigs the most, and most of yours are blurry style. Granted some people prefer, but I'm just saying what I like. Course my current sig is awesome.
