Why I'm voting democrat
#21
Obviously, I was taking a light-hearted stance.

What my point was,

Is that Australians would not toletate that policy. There would be an uproar. It's just the way we are. We get what we work for. You don't work? You get nothing. You deal with it. You don't go and take it from the wealthy.

Then thats your problem. Your parents provided you with an education for you to get a job.

If you throw back at them, thats you not wanted a job or a life.

You must be shit stupid.

They dropped out on their own terms, no single person prevented them from going to school. Why should the people who got good jobs pay for the ones who wanted to sit on their ass?
They want to sit on their ass that is THEIR choice, and THEY will face THEIR OWN consequence.

This isn't a communist or a fascist nation, its not a one for all and all for one deal. Too bad Obama wants it that way...

Plus if they REALLY want their degree, they can get a GED(high school equivalent degree) then they can go off to a community college and by law, in california anyways after 2 years of community college they HAVE to be accepted into a college like Sac State.

No one is stopping the dumbasses from getting their degree back.

That was just to prove you wrong.

I wont even go as far as to explain why your statement is full of shit

The fact of the matter is that in every society there are average people, people that don't make the right choices or aren't capable of doing things that will make them rich as hell. And there are quite a few of them. America's all about opportunity, and welfare is used to help prop up those people so that they have some time to get a job again.

I'm not saying the Welfare program is perfect, because it's far from it, but it's a pretty big part of one of both candidate's platforms right now, opportunity for everyone.

The fact of the matter is that people are supposed to have opportunity...they are not supposed to be carried across the finish line by the government. The government is merely supposed to give them an opening...they have to run the race themselves. I have no sympathy for someone who will not help themselves.

Welfare should be reserved for single mothers/fathers, you know people who have a ton of responsibility and really can't work all the time. It should be something to assist not sustain a person.

Also, for the elderly and disabled...that's what disability is for Math. Please get out of any thread to do with politics.

I agree, Spoon. I don't think it should be given to everybody who wants it. I think it's designed in a perfect world where everybody feels like they should get a job. The problem is making that distinction.

Sure you could only offer welfare for single parents, but then a lot of people that are really trying to get a job but, in the meantime, still have to make ends meet at home. That kind of stuff occurs in all family types, two-parent, single-parent, if it's just a single person.

I don't think people should be carried their whole lives. I'm sure no politician believes that, especially in the current times when all you hear about is fiscal responsibility, not only with the big lending agencies, but back at home. It seems like it's just blown out of proportion.

Watch yourself hun. I'm that close to warning you.
You need to respect other people's opinions. Just because you don't agree, doesn't mean you need to call someone an idiot. YOU, especially, can not talk.

I was referring to the people that are too lazy to get off their fat asses and get a job. Anyone with half a brain could have seen that.

Spoon pretty much summed up what I wanted to say.

Math, you would know all the answers to those questions if you pulled your face away from the computer once in a while, and ventured outside into the real world.

If no one is working, CPS would come and take the kids away because they're living in poverty. That's um.... sensible.

You can't speak as a parent, because [thankfully] you're not one.
