I actually set up an "Adopt a Member!" thread..so that people like me ( at that time) who had a LOT of money/gold/credits...and did NOT play the game or have a use for them....could donate to a member that would actually use them.
I adopted Blue...often buying him little gifts or simply transfering my credits to his account. Then he could purchase gifts, forum changes,or D2 items.
It was really cool because you could add colors to your name or title with the credits and just neat little things that you could ONLY do if you HAD credits.
We often had contests with forum credits as the prize,as incentive to create new graphics ideas and signatures...to promote exceptional writing and role playing contributions, and for members that proved to be especially helpful.
Just a fun way to say "Thank You!" or allow a person to be creative.

I wasn't talking about lotto here, by the time that was even implemented points did nothing. I was talking about jsp where almost all trading for d2 seems to go on.

Nah, points got reset, he was pretty angry, disappeared for awhile, came back, and sent a virus in a maphack and scammed some people on the site or something.

Yup, he was banned for scamming, then when he finally came back after the great "un-banning" of accounts, he was banned a couple days later for only god knows why.

We seem to be talking about the same subject but in 2 different threads.
NVM I just merged them for ease.

Depends if D3 has an inbuilt auction system like WoW or not. If it does there will be no need for D3 trading forums etc.

Even if it does have an auction house people still use forums to trade. People pay fg for gold on servers for WoW or leveling jobs, thats about it. In order for the system to work you need a large forum with lots of regulations about trading.

Man, this must've been a LONG time ago.
I was a guest lurker since late 07, and don't even remember that.
I remember that AlmostDeadly was posting when I was lurking.
I think that the Credits is a cool idea. I had a mindset that it was a competition, actually. When it first came out, I tried getting the most, but Skye, Spit and Math stomped me out. ;.;

ya but since this forum is pretty much for d3. Wel will be for. Im sure an in game clan system will arrive similar to WC3's. Im guessing they still gona use the join list system. With that clan system, a credit system on the website might incorporate well. Ofcouse after every1 works their but off for gear or something.

No...that would have shown up in our multi-account thread that catches different user names from the same ISP...
Credits for more than JUST Diablos gear buying is fun.I like the options we used to have to just do forum stuffs.

Oh sorry, forgot the sarcasm tags...didn't know I still needed to use them but apparently....
In any case...forum credits for D2 Gear? I'd rather trade items of equal worth.

whoa! don't even go there. Math honoustly has multiple accounts. Whats the point?
But yea as Pamela said buying items is pretty fun when you've earned it. Obviously the system would need a lot of thought put into it if ever implemented.
