I just want D2LOADER off my comp...

Just like the title says...I registered my key on blizz an downloaded those stupid files from the site...I don't need D2LOADER and more, and all it is doing is causing me freaking headaches. I can't get it off no matter how hard I try. I have even gone so far as to uninstall everything (multiple times) and delete every file having to do with Diablo2.

I am beginning to go effing crazy over that bright red diablo face...It's like that little gremlin that lived in the electronics from that episode of ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK...except it's destroying my sanity.

Please, I know that I am new, but I have looked around a lot thus far, and you guys seem to know what you are talking about. I have exhausted all the options at my fingertips because I don't know that much about .MPQ files...(however give me a Subaru and I can change the timing belt on any of them, turbo, port and polish...you name it).

im not too sure about the inner workings of d2 loader, but i would try to do these things.
go to folder options, and enable "view hidden files and folders"
then uninstall the game. yes, i know that can be annoying, but do it again.
the d2 folder will still be there. manually delete it. (be sure to backup the characters folder)
next, search your computer for anything that might resemble d2.
(in the search option choose include archive files, system files, etc etc)
take a careful look at the results. if they are part of the game, or d2 loader, delete them.
if the next time you install the game, the little cartoon figure shows up, then the problem is probably in the registry.
the file icon probably got associated with the game, and you may have to change that.

is it just the icon that annoys you?
