Mexican Police Chief Quits
#1
BBC NEWS | Americas | Mexico police chief stands down

...
In my opinion it seems like Mexico seriously needs our help.
We might as well take some troops out of Iraq and send them to Mexico.

....ok ignoring Maths spam...the tricky part is...an international conflict. The problem is also ours and borders need securing.
Let us see how the new president deals with situations like this.
We can't just barge in...especially with a country in our backyard without invitation. We have done and are doing ALL the law and economy allows at this point.

They are a country NOT without resources and should handle this themselves OR be specific in asking for help.

yea like pam said. If they need help than they should ask for it. If not than that means they hvae it under control or are going to have it.

Besides it shouldn't be America's job of going in to save everyone.

If I was the Mexican president(?), I'd put the whole damn northern part of Mexico under martial law until I wiped out all of the drug lords. Poor police officers are probably outgunned by the drug lords. Hand guns vs. AK-47s (I'm not a gun expert).

/facepalm @ares.

We can't and shouldn't be trying to solve the world's problems, especially by just throwing in troops. Most shit will be sorted out by itself.

If the US could find a way to make money by going to war like they were once able to (have factories that make the shit they use to employ more Americans) then it could be a good idea. Or we could strike a deal between us and Mexico.

Forgive me I shall put in [sarcasm] [/sarcasm] tags in next time.

Although it is a serious problem nonetheless, it is just south of Californias border. But the drugs aren't coming through Cali, most of it goes to Texas, they are the ones having the drug issue.

When I went to Mexico I saw a bunch of guys in full gear carrying AKs, and MP5 etc.
Everyone said they are there for "protection" but one of the locals told me that they are in the drug "family" as she told me.

So yeah.. They run mexico now?

Guys...MONEY...is the whole issue here. The only way it stops is not troop intervention...it is use of the product becoming less than the demand....the supply then dwindles.

I dunno...as optomistic as I AM...I just aint seeing that happen anytime soon.

So now back to the real world...the country needs a more aggressive policy on dealing with drug related attacks on law enforcement.Just IMO

i checked Wikipedia, Mexico has 45,000 soldiers taking part and 5000 police against 300,000 plus. spread out of course. the thing is i think they may be losing the drug conflict and they need support. right about now.

Lol I have found many mistakes and wrong information on wikki. It is a good site to use for quick information but should not be used for factual discussions.
